Safecracking In The Great Outdoors
Cincinnati, OH
Cincinnati Police figured a stolen safe dumped in the woods near Lunken Airport wouldn’t stay there long. They were right.
Police were notified Sunday a safe had been stolen from the Airport Playfield golf course. A search located it in the nearby woods.
Police speculated it had been dumped because the thief couldn’t get it out of the area. So police staked out the safe, and about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday a man came to retrieve it.
He carried it about 100 yards, but police said the safe weighs 150 pounds, so he put it down and tried to pry it open.
A police dog tracked him down and bit him on the ankle.
Police charged Howard Davidson, 35, of Eastern Avenue, with safecracking, receiving stolen property and possession of criminal tools.

“A police dog tracked him down and bit him on the ankle”? It appears that they had him under observation at the time and knew exactly where he was, so why did they turn a dog on him? It seems to me that there is more to this story.

I’m wondering how you play golf near an airport. I would be afraid of hitting low flying aircraft during the landing and take-off process.

lmao, when I first pictured it in my mind, it went like this…. A police dog turned loose to track him down… * I see a big ole german shephard running through the woods getting ready to pounce the guy* then, I read on, and * it bites him on the ankle * Imagine my own surprise when that dog turned into a poodle…. lmao, have a good day all….
