Hanover Police responded to a 9-1-1 emergency call when a 14-year-old female Hanover resident awoke to find a 21-year-old Dartmouth student beside her in bed. The student entered the unlocked private family residence and proceeded to the second floor where he entered the girl’s room. The subject allegedly removed his pants and climbed into bed with her. Actually, locking the doors is still a foreign concept in much of small-town America. Being an Ivy League college town probably reinforces the perception of safety.

We live in Virginia and never lock all our doors. Hmmm…maybe a drunk coed might stumble in one of these days and crawl into bed with me! Of course, with my luck she’d be more nightmare than dream. And then, of course, there’s my wife. I imagine her reaction would be far different than mine.

I wonder what the student did to awaken the 14 year old girl at 3:30 in the morning. Hmmm…what are the choices: cold feet - nah, loud snorer - no, wondering hands of lewd behavior - yup I’ll go with that one.
