At 10:14 p.m. Wednesday, Carla Catron called from her cell phone at the Walnut Street Wal-Mart Supercenter to report she saw a woman in her 50s carrying a 22-inch television and large trash container out of the store. She said the alarm went off, but the greeter at the door didn’t try to stop the shoplifter. When Catron tried to confront the woman, Catron was ignored, so she followed the suspect to Locust Street, where security personnel found the suspect and recovered the stolen merchandise.

I worked at our local Wal-Mart a few years ago, and I caught a guy stealing a pair of boots, red handed(or red footed
). When I asked my manager why security hadn’t stopped the guy, he told me that it was more expensive to prosecute a shoplifter than to let them get away with the loot! Go figure!!?!!

i whent to wal-mart to but a DVD for my son not long ago an the detector whent off..the lady merely checked my stuff an said oh someone didnt demagnatize it..let alone i could have had 5-6 more in my jacket

I also used to work at a Wal-Mart. I caught 2 young girls stealing a pregnancy test, very sad. The management staff used to say we (the regular workers) couldn’t do anything except alert them the management to what was going on. They had to see it first hand for themselves to prosicute? We didn’t have any security… just the old ladies that worked the front doors….boy they were tough.
