Son For Sale

Middletown, OH
A 30-year-old man accused of trying to sell his 2-year-old son in a drug store parking lot is held at the city jail in lieu of $5,500 bond, jail officials said today.

Jason W. McCarthy was charged Monday with child endangering and loitering in the aid of a drug offense after police said he asked a woman to buy his son at Walgreen’s drug store, 700 S. Breiel Boulevard.

He is scheduled to appear in Middletown Municipal Court April 18.

He was trying to get him a better home–Seems his life must suck and he realizes it and doesn’t deserve to have a child.

Says something for selective breeding, doesn’t it?

Because he did this outside of a drug store it is all of a sudden a drug offense? Not that this guy doesn’t deserve every charge that can be thrown at him, but the officier did show quite a bit of creativity with that one.

A guy selling his kid. Man, I can get all worked up over that one! I hope they find a good home for the kid. I never met a two year old that did anything to deserve not getting every chance they could. Darn, my kids have made me into such a softie!

I live in this upstanding citizen’s area - land of the bozos who get their entertainment from stabbing Christmas snowmen lawn ornaments and brainiacs that rob banks on bikes - and the article left out a little piece of information. The police had been called and alerted the guy was trying to sell his son in the parking lot. They actually caught up with him elsewhere as he was making a drug buy with his kid right there with him in the car.

My question is how much did want for the kid? Probably just enough to buy a couple of rocks of crack.

Don’t families spend thousands of dollars to ‘adopt’ a kid, even from China? I thought that, basically, kids were essentially sold all the time to adoptive parents. Hmmm…maybe I oughta use Mike’s internet and find out. ;)

  7. ironman Says:

Oh, Ritch, don’t you know that it isn’t “selling” a kid if only the lawyers get the money.

My bad. Now I just feel stupid!
