Wanna Buy Some Cheap CDs?
Scorro, NM
A man on NE Frontage Road reported at 1:30 p.m. he went out to his vehicle and discovered that a Colt .22 caliber pistol, three .22 caliber rifles, a JVC AM/FM/CD player, and numerous CDs had been stolen from inside the car and the trunk. Later in the day he noticed the suspect come into his place of employment in the 500 block of Otero and sold a co-worker some CD’s. He asked to see them and they were his. To recap the story so far: the thief tried to sell stolen stuff to the guy he stole from. The suspect was located a few hours later by other officers and one of the stolen rifles was found in his vehicle. He was arrested and released to the custody of a relative. He told officers he would return the items. Later, the thief returned guns to police, but he returned more guns than were reportedly stolen.

Hmm, sumpin’ don’t smell exactly right here… Did the one guy underreport the theft (for whatever reason) or did the thief forget which ones he stole from whom, and just grabbed them all?

And what was all that firepower doing sitting around in vehicles anyway? You know, I have been wondering where to keep my valuables..the car! That’s the ticket!

Ode To Socorro
Oh Socorro, you jewel of the prairie,
You’d have my heart were you not to scary,
But fun you are with your drugs and your guns,
And a grand reputation for your native sons.
Your men are idiots and your women are fat,
Drunk and hairy, both are like that,
Perhaps it’s the heat or the deep isolation,
But you give us pause for wonderous reflection.

I thought I was a poet
But Ritch passed me by
He found the heart of Socorro
(The drugs and the theft)
His words are a phenomenal high.
Residing in New Mexico
Must really be a thrill.

Or you might end up killed.
