The Emergency Valet
Cincinnati, OH
All John Louis Winter wanted was a ride to his Price Hill home.
Instead, police gave him a ride to the pokey.
Winter, 59, was arrested at 2:04 a.m. today, accused of making three calls to 911 knowing there was no emergency.
Twice, police warned him to stop.
When he did it a third time, police documents note, he was arrested and charged with making false alarms.
He told police he just wanted a ride home.
He is expected in court Thursday.

Did the brilliant cops ever consider saving everyone a lot of time and money by just giving the guy a ride home?

The police are not a free taxi service, and if you persist in acting as if they are, they give you a little negative reinforcement. Makes sense to me.

I hitchhiked a ride from a cop—we had gotten hit by an icestorm and everything was so slippery I could barely stand up.
