The Fraud That Fell Flat

Louis Stevens and and Francis Fredette were trying to burglarize a Mobil convenience store in Randolph on Nov. 19, 2000, when Fredette, 40, of North Clarendon, fell off the roof, seriously injuring his back. The two then drove 40 miles to Fredette’s apartment, where they allegedly placed him at the bottom of an exterior staircase and pretended he had fallen, prosecutors said.
“That night, (Fredette) decided to make it appear that his injuries occurred at a different location so he could file a fraudulent personal injury lawsuit to recover money for his injuries,” according to Fredette’s indictment.
Fredette won a $700,000 insurance settlement over the fall after filing suit against his landlord and the owners of the property.
Fredette, who has pleaded innocent to fraud, faces up to 40 years in prison and a $2 million fine if convicted. His indictment calls for the forfeiture of a home he bought with the proceeds of the settlement.

What a douchebag! Unfortunately they will probably not get much out of him, as seizing someone’s residence is still pretty difficult from a legal standpoint. The best they can probably hope for is a lien against the property so they get all the money if it’s ever sold.

With a name like Francis Fredette, he more than likely suffered at the hands of his peers in the past, and felt the world (Mobil being the target) owed him for having to put up with all that ridicule. When in all actuality it was his mother who named him and therefore his targeting was slightly obscured by visions of green stamps dancing in his head.

He sounds like a true winner doesn’t he? Lol! Well that man right there happens to be my father unfortunately. He is the biggest abusive alcoholic douche bag i have ever known!! I HATE him!!!! He deserves to be punished. I have grown up watching this man get away with so much shit it’s unbelievable. For once he needs to learn what he has done is wrong!! If they don’t see him as guilty then we might as well just give him a pat on the back and say you are allowed to do whatever you want in this world. I’m totally disgusted by him.
