A woman told a deputy that she put mail in her mailbox at 1 p.m. in the 8300 block of Dynasty Drive. When she went back to her mailbox at 3 p.m., the mail was gone.

She should have put it in the cable box - then it would have been picked up sometime between 12 & 5 in the afternoon.

I’m hoping that, since it happened in Florida, the woman is about 90. If not, the deputy should have given her a citation for being an idiot or at least one for wasting his time.

Oh boy!
My wife has camped the mailbox many a time waiting for the mail lady, only to find out the sub had already came and went much earlier.

Odd the mailperson didn’t also deliver mail. I mean, you put some outgong mail in the box and when the mail person comes they take the outgoing stuff and leave the in coming stuff. So, shouldn’t the report have been “I put mail in the mailbox at 1pm and when I looked at 3pm there was different mail in there”? Seems to me there is a mystery here after all.
Alright, so that’s pushing it. The lady was clearly lonely since the kids haven’t visited in years and needed a man in uniform.
