All Paul Huguenard of Greenhills wanted Tuesday after a hard day’s work was something cold.
He got it when he opened his freezer and found “Oreo†— his cat.
Greenhills police arrested his son, Mark Huguenard, 23, and charged him with cruelty to animals.
“Mark stated he put cat in freezer because it was breathing heavy,†Paul Huguenard told police.
The incident happened at 6:32 p.m. Tuesday. Mark Huguenard was arrested an hour later.
Police said when they arrived, “Oreo†the cat, was “shaking severely†and cold to the touch.
“Observed cat hair in the freezer,†police documents note.
In court today, Paul Huguenard said his son has an alcohol problem.
“He is drinking to insanity on a consistent basis,†the father told Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Heather Russell.
The judge ordered Mark Huguenard held on $1,000 bond. She also ordered him, if he makes bond, to be placed on house arrest, wear an electronic ankle monitor and stay away from his parents.

Maybe the son went into the fridge to get another beer and the door was open long enough for kitty to get into it and then his drunk a$$ shut it.

How can they put him under house arrest AND make him avoid his parents? He appears to live with them…

That is exactly what I thought Mike.
He admitted to putting the cat in the freezer. What a cold thing to do to a poor animal (bad pun I should have posted under someone else’s user name).
Speaking of cold, Dad was pretty harsh too. The kid must have pushed his parents way too far with the cat thing. Or it could be they just like the cat better than their kid.

i would have beaten this guy for a stunt like that with an animal, especially a pet cat.

Ordered to stay away from his parents? The bonehead should have been ordered to stay away from the cat.

If the cat recovers the ability to use its limbs I doubt it will let Junior get near it ever again.

Indeed this guy is an idiot. I grew up in this town and knew this crazy dude. I love cats so I was immediately appalled to hear that Mark was capable of this. But he is a product of his father (who attempted suicide a few years before this, in front of Mark). Alright Paul (Mark’s dad), you’ve had your fifteen minutes of fame, relish in it, because you are the jerk who raised this idiot.

Man is crazy..has issues beyond this. This is how serial killers start (on animals) then move on to bigger things. Give him death.
