The Cart Path To No Good
Sacramento, CA
An 18-year-old man who led Elk Grove on a 4-mile pursuit - in a golf cart - last week was not so lucky.
Andrew Paul Aye, 18, was arrested after trying to break into the Ace Hardware store on Elk Grove-Florin Road at 1:35 a.m. July 3.
When officers arrived, Aye fled on foot then hopped into a golf cart, leading police on a low-speed chase through Old Town Elk Grove.
He faces charges of attempted burglary, driving without a license and evading police.

I wish I could have seen this. What a bonehead. And do you really need a drivers license for a gold cart?

If you’re driving it on the street you do. It reminds me of the drunk guy on a lawnmower I saw on COPS once.

It reminds me of the 10-mile-per-hour police car/moped chase that was posted here a while back. It’s also reminiscent of the cartoon character who turns to run, only to crash right into a wall or something.

I’m sure that the time he would serve is diminished a bit because it was an attempted burglary. Makes me wonder if it was his cart or not and how he got a whole 4 miles with the cops behind him. I guess they didn’t want to hit the cart with their cars for fear of killing him if it rolled over.
