The Rental Robbers
Cincinnati, OH
Alvin Chambers and Steven Turner, police say, take their jobs very seriously.
Chambers, 24, of South Fairmount, and Turner, 21, of East Price Hill, work for Aaron’s Rental Company and deliver and pick up televisions and other items rented by customers.
But when a 42-inch plasma television was mistakenly dropped off at Juanita Carter’s home in East Price Hill, police say Chambers and Turner decided to get it back – even if no one was home.
The pair, police said, was at her Morrow Place home at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday when they knocked on the front door. There was no answer.
Police said the two went to the side of the house, took an air conditioning unit out of the window and entered the home to retrieve the television.
Chambers and Turner were arrested and charged with burglary.
Both were released today on their own recognizance.

Maybe they were told that if they didn’t get the tv back they wouldn’t have a job. I definately would have rethought my actions before I went thru the trouble of going to jail for some overpriced rental place that may as well be gangsters……I have seen people pay payments in the amount totaling $4000 for a $1000 tv. lol……….SUCKERS!

I had a neighbor who bought some stuff from a rental company. They were behind on their payments and the rental company came out, found the door unlocked, and took all the stuff.

I always suspected those rent-to-own scams were a ripoff… These fellas have gone and proven it for even the most credulous of skeptics.

Seriously, I can’t believe their job description included any mention of “breaking and entering if necessary.”
