The Courting Couple
Columbia, SC
A 21-year-old woman told police on May 11 that she and her 24-year-old live-in boyfriend were arguing about having to go to court that morning for the boyfriend’s criminal domestic violence charge. They scuffled and he grabbed her nose, squeezed it until it bled and scratched her hand. She refused medical assistance but asked that her boyfriend be arrested. The cops advised her to keep her court date.

since it’s SC, it must be love AND family ties; it’s tough to leave your father’s house…

Good one, Ber. It’s tough when your older brother takes advantage his size…see, in the south, they teach you to not pick on people smaller than you so, it’s apparent that she’s bound by those teachings and can’t fight back. So, her only form of retribution is to go to Wal-Mart and pile her cart high with Twinkies, Sam’s Soda and haircare products.

Don’t forget the stinkbait, gdfunkrr. Gotta have that to put into his socks and underwear later for that vacation he is about to take. You know, the one where he gets a nice comfy bed with at least one hour of fresh air a day — Meals included! And the nightlife, whooo baby, or should I say, “OHHH, Baby!”

Yeah, jul, you can’t change a striped leopard — sounds to me like this girl’s a fag-hag trying to turn her “boyfriend” straight or something. I say this only because, in my opinion, the guy fights like a girl — pinching and scratching? C’mon! A pansy by any other name…

It’s amazing how both women and men will stay in an abusive relationship. The fear of being left alone is greater than the fear of being beaten…most likely these people were raised in an abusive home, and they learn to equate pain with love. Making a clean break is like walking a tightrope without a net…it’s better to stay with something they’re familiar with than to attempt to make it alone. This is experience speaking.

I would say that you’re right about this guy being a pansy leahmarie, In my opinion REAL men do not need to abuse women, not that some women cannot push a guys buttons, it’s just that real men would have the common sense that you do not hit a woman, this woman needs to smarten up and move on and find a REAL MAN!!!!

it is called codependency, and it explains why so many people stay in dysfunctional relationships.

I live by the affirming words of wisdom by the holy trinity of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, and Mother Mary: “…take a sad song and make it better…”
