The Runaway Shed
Chadron, NE
8:27 a.m. Caller from the 300 block of Main St. advised that her neighbor’s shed was blowing down the street and was now blocking the alley between North Main and Chadron. Caller did not know who the shed belonged to. Found shed, unable to move and have no idea where it blew from.

I don’t live there anymore, but if I did, I’d bet dollars to donuts it flew out of my folk’s yard, and it was full of old radio tubes and shelled out black&white tv consoles. (My dad was a tv repairman, back before everything was built with “planned obsolescence”)

Here’s how you get there from here…from Wyoming on west, go east on US Hiway 20. From Iowa on east, go west on US Hiway 20. You’ll get there. And there’ll be a cold one waiting for you at the Favorite Bar, where everybody brings a dog along.

Great idea, Mike ! Trouble is, some drunk will claim the rent-a-dog is one of his that runned off or got stolened and will pick a fight with the hapless person who just wanted to blend in.
