The Mow-By BB Shooting

Morgan County, GA
On June 3 Brandon Turner Deaton, 21, Bishop, was arrested and charged with terroristic threats and acts after he allegedly rode a lawnmower past another man’s house and shot at the man’s dog with a bb gun. The complainant reported he then tracked Deaton to Deaton’s house and confronted Deaton regarding him riding past his house on a lawnmower and shooting at his dogs with a bb gun, at which point Deaton allegedly drew a bead on the complainant with the bb gun– and allegedly threatened to kill the complainant with the bb gun. A woman at Deaton’s house was also arrested on disorderly conduct charges after she ran around her car when an officer told her she was going to be arrested on disorderly conduct charges.

Better stop them now before they take the next step to paintball guns!

WalMart was sold out of paint-ball guns that day — so they settled for something with the next best sting.

The police weren’t the sharpest crayons in the box, either. The report says the woman was told she was going to be arested even BEFORE commiting the offences for which she was arested. That’s talented police work, eh?

Can you just picture this guy riding his lawn mower (shooting clippings out the back) while going from one house to another shooting his gun — just like John Wayne in the westerns. Yee Haw!

“Terroristic threats and acts”????? Sounds like one of those things that almost any “unusual” behavior could be categorized as for the purpose of enforcing compliance with the “norm”. Personally I’d have taken his BB gun from him and beat him stupid with it (that or a lucky shot are about the only ways to kill someone with a BB gun), then I’d call the police for a report and graciously decline to pursue the charge unless mower man continued to be a nuisance. ‘Course I could just blow him away with a .410 Magnum slug, and claim I thought he was pointing a real gun at me, but that might have karmic repercussions.

Yep, its all fun and games until someone loses an eye. And how is that eye patch of yours, Mike?

My favorite was “drew a bead” while reported instead of “aimed”! Good Lord!

there were 37 color glossy photographs with cirlces and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one to be used as evidence against us. We were fined 15 dollars and ordered to go pick up the garbage.

So what was the plan? if he couldnt get a clean shot at him he was going to ‘mow them all down’?

  10. nanedwards69 Says:

    funny, mow them down!

Hey Born, that was 27 color glossy pictures, and a 50 dollar fine. Truly a case of American Blind Justice.

The poor Bishop is forced to drive around on a lawn mower, (his golf cart was in the shop), to save the church gas money. I was impressed. he not only saved gas but he reserved gun powder for war efforts. GOOD JOB FOREST!
