Know When To Walk Away
Atlanta, GA
A man met a brown-haired woman at a restaurant on Buford Highway. She said that he could be taught how to be a card dealer and work in a Las Vegas casino — in exchange for a small fee. So the man went to a hotel on Peachtree Road and met with three men who further explained the details of becoming a card dealer. Then, the man went to a bank and withdrew $8,000 and gave it to the men — the money he had to pay to become a card dealer.
Later, the man went back to their hotel room to pick up a package containing his airline ticket and card-dealer training materials, but no one was in the hotel room. He hasn’t heard from any of the people who offered to train him to be card dealer. And he’s out $8,000.

Is he going to try the voodoo story?

Hmmmmmmmmm………………………. where to start ….. should I start with the fact that this man is obviously well-off enough to be able to just cough up $8000 without a second though and all he wants to do wtih his life is BE A CARD DEALER!!! ….. or should it be the fact that whoever wrote this “article” was amazed that the guy was “out” the cash ….. hmmm ….. no, what I really want to know is — where the hell is this guy now, cause I got this airline ticket and card-dealer training material that these friends of mine (who had to leave town suddenly) asked me to deliver for them. It’ll only cost him $10 k to get the ticket, and I”ll throw in the card-dealer training material AND a coupon for a free “long pork” appetizer at the RoadKill Kafe’.

Um, Mike, I’m gonna be needin’ that next delivery of “long pork” soon, man. The chef was so pleased with the response to the appetizer that he’s been “inspired” to create a complete meal.
Call me, we’ll discuss details….

I’d say it wasn’t in the cards for this guy. These people need to be flush(ed) out Royally and decked.

Don’t put all your cards in one basket.

For $8K you would think the guy would have flown to Vegas himself and found a real dealer school to help him.
On a side note: Sorry to show my ignorance, and perhaps I have read too many Stephen King novels, buti isn’t “long pork” slang for human baby meat?

Not baby meat iron, just human meat. Kind of a running gag here, it goes back to a post called “Honey, did you pick up the male?”, and relates to a gag that goes much further back.

Thanks, Mike. I remeber that post. One of the things that made me join this blog is the running humor. Guess I haven’t been a participant long enough to get them all.

Aw, Mike, cut me some slack!! I’m just recovering from a major crash that left my car totalled and two insurance companies (Geico and Progressive) duking it out. Anyone have a good clean used car for sale? I’m driving a rent-a-wreck Geo right now.
