Cutting the Grass
Jupiter, FL
Just after 9 p.m., a deputy on patrol in the 17000 block of 132nd Drive North in Jupiter Farms saw a man driving down the middle of the road on a lawn mower. The 34-year-old driver was stopped and searched. His driver license was expired as of November 2005, he had less than 20 grams of marijuana and some hydrocodone tablets without a prescription. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital for an examination, and while there he hit a deputy. From the hospital the man was taken to the county jail.

He must have had something else in his system. Last time I checked, pot and Vicodin don’t make you particularly violent. Well, not me anyway. Maybe the deputy got mouthy with him, and the drugs diminished the common sense which would have otherwise prevented him from issuing the beating that a badgeless loudmouth might expect. Maybe he’s just a dumbass.

People drive lawnmowers here, too, but at least they have the common sense to drive the pokey old things on the SIDE of the road. As for him hitting the deputy: cops say the darndest things; they seem to believe they have the inalienable right to be verbally abusive — very often they deserve to be smacked.

Dum ass is too crued. I believe the proper pronounciation is ‘Do Maas’. The guy ran out of grass, so he took the lawn mower to cut some more. Makes sense to me.
