12:57 p.m. A woman was cited for speeding, no proof of insurance, no seat belt, no front license plate and driving on a canceled or denied driver’s license on Eighth Avenue.

Hello! Officer! Over here! Yeah, that’s right, look at me! I drove without a license for a long time, and you can bet I always kept my cars scrupulously legal (proper registration, all lights working, exhaust quiet, etc.), and never exceeded the speed limit by any more than the cars around me. Cops are trained to look for people whose behavior stands out from the crowd, and oddly enough these are the same people who could benefit most from remaining low-key. In other words, what a dumba$$.

I think that “driving on a canceled or denied driver’s license” is just the charge, Reb, probably about the same as “driving while license suspended” Here in MI. Not that I know that from experience or anything…
