A clerk at the Kangaroo Express on Dallas Road said a white male drove up in an older mid-size pickup truck with a loud exhaust. The man - described as about 35 years old, 6′3″ and 180 pounds - came in the store.

He picked up three cases of Bud Lite beer and walked to the door without paying.

Before departing, he told the clerk, “I’m going to have a good time tonight.”

Don’t Touch My Wii

After purchasing a used Nintendo Wii through Craigslist, the purchaser geared up for his first game. While scrolling through a list of recent players and saved games, the young man recognized the name of a friend. He called the friend and verified the machine had, in fact, been stolen recently.

Contacting authorities, the buyer gave investigators the seller’s information. Easily traced, after some questioning, the Carpinteria resident, 19, was arrested on suspicion of an Isla Vista burglary.

The Great Circus Train Robbery

Several items were stolen Saturday night from one of the trains in town with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Cincinnati police said.

A flat-screen television, DVD player, laptop, iPod, cell phone, passport and $2,200 were taken between 6 and 11 p.m.

The train was parked in the 600 block of Lunken Park Drive. Police had not made any arrests as of Sunday.

So Much For Guard Dogs

Katrina Kyner of Camden Street came home to find that a small garden shovel from her yard had been used to pry open her front door.

Drawers in a dresser were ransacked along with a small purse. She is missing a coin collection and a bottle of Crown Royal whisky.

Also taken was her deceased aunt’s identification papers.

Two dogs were at the house, and there is an alarm system. But the burglars were undeterred.

Internet Date, or Headache?

An Augusta man came to Waynesboro with loving on his mind, but ended up with an aching in his head.

The man told police he met a Waynesboro woman on a chat line and agreed to visit her here for an afternoon rendezvous.

The couple was in an upstairs bedroom when another man, claiming to be the woman’s boyfriend, rushed in and threatened to “shoot (the Augusta man) in the head.”

The boyfriend allegedly hit him in the head with a pistol before stealing $50 from his pants pocket.

The Augusta man was ordered to leave and continued to get hit in the head as he tried to walk down the stairs in his underwear, the report said.

The woman and her sister retrieved the man’s clothes for him, and he called police after dressing inside his car and driving to McDonald’s.

An Edgebrook Crossing resident spotted an abandoned canoe along Tinkers Creek in Twinsburg at 5:30 p.m. April 23. A call to the number painted on the canoe was answered by Mohican Canoe Livery.

The employee who answered seemed surprised to hear the canoe was found. It had been missing since 1981. A theft report was never made. She said she’d come in with proof of ownership to reclaim the canoe.

One Beat-Lover’s Pizza

A pizza delivery man showed up at a home at 10:05 p.m. in the 16000 block of Edinburgh Drive in Loxahatchee. A man greeted the delivery man in the driveway, then proceeded to beat him with a stick until he gave the suspect three pizzas, a cellphone, a two-liter bottle of Pepsi and $25.

Two men were arrested and charged Thursday night after Cincinnati police say they posed as Norwood police to get into a man’s home and steal $120 from him.

Josh Harber, 25, of East Walnut Hills, and Kenneth Bush, 20, of Norwood, are scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. on charges of robbery and inpersonating a police officer, Hamilton County court records show.

The men flashed a badge at the door of a home in the 3000 block of Robertson Avenue just before midnight Thursday, police said. They said they were Norwood police officers and needed to speak to the victim about a suspect they were looking for, according to court records.
But once they were inside, they patted the victim down and took $120 off him, records state.
