Something Happened

Posted on October 9th, 2007

Missoula, MT
A worried mother called police and requested they check on her daughter, who had sent her a text message the night before saying only that “something had happened,” and then failed to answer repeated phone calls, Director of Public Safety Jim Lemcke said. Officers and RAs responded to the girl’s room but she did not answer the door, which was unlocked but had a chain in place. They cut the chain to get in, and discovered the girl and a young man asleep in bed together. “So there was embarrassment all the way around,” said Lemcke, “but everyone was fine.” Officers told the girl to call her mother.

The Garden of Pornography

Savannah, GA
An officer was dispatched to Fernwood Drive after a woman called to say someone had left an X-rated video under her daughters’ window. The woman said she runs a foster home and has several girls of different ages living at the residence, ages 11, 12 and 15.

None of the girls had seen anyone leaving the videos, but the woman said one foster child who recently moved out always complained about a man who constantly made offensive comments to her. One of the other children in the house also reported that the man had made an offensive comment to her.

The woman said the girls woke up several mornings and spotted the man standing at the rear of the residence at the fence. The officer went to the man’s house, directly behind the woman’s. The officer asked the man if he or his family had seen suspicious persons in the area. The man said he hadn’t seen anyone suspicious, but has seen young men in the area.

When the officer asked him about being seen standing behind the victims’ house, he said he puts the trash cans back in the neighbor’s yard after the trash is picked up in order to keep the neighbors from being fined by the city.

The officer logged seven X-rated videos into evidence: Golden High Heels, Red on Top and Wet all Over, Young and White, Ultimate First (Adam and Eve), Beautiful Starlets Who Crave Sex, Adventures of Footman and Lick My Panties. The movies appeared to have been sitting in the weather for a period of time. Each had a price of $19.95 written on them.

Senior Skip Day Shuts Down Park

Posted on March 12th, 2007

Chattanooga, TN

Chattanooga Police said Coolidge Park had to be temporarily closed on Friday afternoon due to a large group of unruly youth.

Police said 100-200 youths skipped school and converged on the park in the early afternoon.

Officers said they overran the park so that some people with small children became upset and feared for their safety.

The youths began throwing eggs and balloons at people, the report said.

Police said as officers began to arrive on the scene, the group became even more rowdy. One of the youths was taken into custody.

As the tension escalated, Don Lewis, who oversees Coolidge Park, made the decision to clear the park. Everyone in the park was told to evacuate.

The park reopened later Friday.

Police Chief Freeman Cooper released this statement on Monday afternoon, “It appeared to be a group of seniors from several different high schools skipping class having a balloon fight. When the police got there and told them to leave they cleared the park within minutes.

“One student was taken into custody for throwing eggs at the other students even after police asked him to stop.

“While we don’t condone their skipping school or their choice of activity, it looked like they were there to enjoy the spring-like weather and have some harmless fun. Unfortunately, their great idea became very popular and some 200 kids showed up to throw water balloons.”

The Screaming, Naked, Shotgun-Toting 19-Year Old

Posted on February 6th, 2007

Strongsville, OH
A teenager who ran down a residential street screaming and yelling, then pointed a shotgun at two AT&T workers, has been charged.

According to a report, the incident occurred at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 24 on North Red Rock Drive.

Police received a call from a resident on the street who said a male, 19, who was running up and down the street naked, went back into his house and re-emerged with the shotgun.

The workers at whom the gun was pointed reportedly fled on foot and the youth dropped the gun and entered an AT&T vehicle with its engine running.

The youth drove the vehicle to Misty Lake Drive, where he collided with a construction vehicle.

Officers arrived immediately thereafter and located the teen hiding behind a backhoe. He was taken into custody at the scene without incident.

Due to his bizarre behavior and continued ranting, the teen was transported to Southwest General Health Center by Strongsville Fire Department paramedics.

No one was reported injured in the incident and the firearm, an unloaded double-barreled shotgun, was recovered on North Red Rock Drive.

Police said the teen, who was admitted to the health center for observation, is currently charged with aggravated robbery. An investigation of the incident is underway.
