Medina, OH
A 26-year-old Medina woman who called her friend to see if her new cell phone was working ended being charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft April 28. According to police reports, the woman’s friend, also26, told police that someone took $100 from her wallet on April 26 and $280 on April 28. She believed it was her friend, because the wallet was in the car, and her friend was alone in the car.

Police talked with the friend, who eventually admitted to taking the money. She said that she took the money to buy the cell phone and that she didn’t think it would be wrong to take the money from her friend, because, when the two women were in high school, her friend was messin’ around with her boyfriend.

    Goleta, CA
A man, who appeared to be a transient, entered a West Camino Cielo residence around 6:15 a.m., June 27, and announced that he was the home’s owner. Shocked and still wet from his morning shower, the rightful resident watched as the man in his 40s marched around the house and garage-without the owner’s permission-as if he owned the place. Before deputies arrived on the scene, the man left the area in a white van. The victim told deputies this trespasser has visited before making the same unfounded claims. The suspect is wanted for aggravated trespassing.
