Cut Off In the Parking Lot

Posted on June 6th, 2008

Cincinnati, OH
A Cincinnati man was arrested for stabbing another man over a parking space at Newport on the Levee. Jerry Lin, 20, of Cincinnati, is charged with felony assault.

David Clark, 39, also of Cincinnati, told police he was trying to back into a parking space in the Levee parking garage about 8 p.m. May 23, when another vehicle pulled up on his bumper and refused to back up. Clark got his car into the spot and the other driver approached him as he got out of his car.

Clark told police Lin attacked him, according to the arrest report. When family members noticed Clark’s back was bleeding heavily, Lin got in his car and fled the scene.

Clark was treated at University Hospital for two stab wounds to his back. Police located Lin’s vehicle in the Levee parking garage. Lin returned to the vehicle while the officers were there.

The knife was recovered in his pants pocket.

Deputies had an odd interview with a Gough man being treated by EMA personnel.

When they first asked what was wrong, the 50-year-old said he had nothing to say but tacked on a few vulgarities for good measure.

When pressed for more information, he told officers that a chair fell from the sky and hit him on the head.

After he demanded to be left alone, others on the scene were asked to keep a close watch on him and call back if he took a turn for the worse or was “attacked by another chair.”
